Sean
Smith
Chairman
As chairman of Coalition
America, Sean retains final accountability for
all aspects of the company. His primary areas
of responsibility include business development
and strategic planning through partnerships,
new service and product development, and acquisition
considerations.
In 1995, Sean partnered
with his twin brother, Scott, to form Coalition
America following a career in Sales with Medical
Review Systems (MRS). At MRS he was recognized
as their top producer in 1993. Sean also served
as vice-president of Validated Network, Inc.,
a division of Medical Review Systems.
Sean earned his BBA
in finance with honors from the University of
Kentucky. He is an active member of The American
Association of Preferred Provider Organization
board (AAPPO), The Board of Councilors for The
Carter Center, The University of Kentucky John
Bryan Bowman Fellow, and a life member of the
University of Kentucky Alumni Association and
Sigma Pi Fraternity Alumni Association. He has
served as president of the Atlanta Chapter of
the Young Entrepreneurs Organization (YEO),
and a former member of two CEO organizations
- YEO and TEC. He is also active in several
nonprofit organizations that are making a difference
in the community including: Make-A-Wish Foundation,
The Carter Center, Kicks for Kids, and the Interfaith
Outreach Home.
Scott Smith
Chief Executive Officer
As
CEO of Coalition America, Scott is responsible
for overseeing implementation of the critical
factors that will continue the company's success.
Scott is involved in all aspects of the company
from daily operations to strategic initiatives
and long-range goals.
In
1995, Scott partnered with his twin brother,
Sean, to form Coalition America following a
career in Sales with UZ Engineered Products
and Medical Review Systems (MRS). At MRS, Scott
was instrumental in the conversion of their
data files from a commercial software platform
to a proprietary in-house system in 1995.
Scott
earned his BBA in finance from the University
of Kentucky, followed by extended studies in
information systems at Northern Kentucky University.
While a student at NKU, Scott participated in
a management co-op program, allowing him to
collaborate on several technical projects for
Cincinnati Bell Telephone. Scott is a member
of the Young President's Organization (YPO),
an exclusive peer network that connects them
to exchange ideas, pursue learning and share
strategies, and to achieve personal and professional
growth and success. He also sits on the Board
of Councilors for The Carter Center, and is
a former member and board member of the Young
Entrepreneurs Organization (YEO). He is a life
member of the University of Kentucky Alumni
Association and Sigma Pi Fraternity Alumni Association.
Mollie
Brown
President
As president of Coalition
America, Mollie oversees sales, account management,
marketing, information systems, product development,
human resources and strategic efforts.
Mollie Brown has over
twenty-eight years of experience in the healthcare
industry having held management roles in various
locations throughout the country in both the
payor and provider communities, including management
positions with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida
and Massachusetts. Prior to joining CAI, Brown
served as president of Ceres Health Care and
senior vice president of Central Reserve Life
Insurance Company, both subsidiaries of Ceres
Group, Inc. During her tenure with Ceres, she
held positions of increasing responsibility
in provider networks, claim operations, and
medical and pharmacy benefits management. She
holds a BS degree from the Medical College of
Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University.
Anthony
R. Levinson
Chief Financial Officer
As
chief financial officer, Anthony is responsible
for finance, accounting and legal. In particular,
he oversees a department of 24 people which
consists of accounts receivable, cash applications,
accounts payable, general ledger, financial
statement preparation, budgeting and loss control.
Anthony is also involved in corporate strategy,
such as evaluating acquisitions.
Anthony
is a certified public accountant licensed in
the state of Georgia. He joined Coalition America
in August 2005. Prior to being named CFO of
the company, Anthony held the positions of Chief
Operating Officer (2003-2005) and Chief Financial
Officer (1993-2003) at Automobile Protection
Corporation - APCO, a wholly-owned subsidiary
of Ford Motor Company. Prior to APCO, Anthony
worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP in the
audit assurance and consulting groups from 1978-1993.
Anthony
earned his bachelor of accounting degree from
the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg,
South Africa.
Tina
Ellex
Chief Operating Officer
As chief operating officer,
Tina is responsible for increasing savings on
existing claim volume, adding new cost containment
services for CAI clients, reducing costs associated
with PPO and other vendor relationships while
streamlining existing processes and workflows
through technology.
Tina Ellex joined CAI
in June of 1996 and has filled many roles, including
account manager, managed care coordinator, manager
of managed care, manager of services, and director
of operations and services. She has over 10
years of healthcare experience, including working
as an insurance administrator for John Hancock
Insurance, directing membership services for
the Georgia Dental Association, and working
for the renowned Atlanta hospital formerly known
as Egleston Children's Hospital.
Tina earned her Bachelor
of Science degree from the University of Georgia.
Greg
Comrie
Chief Information Officer
As chief information
officer, Greg is responsible for ensuring that
the company's information technology investments
are aligned with its strategic business objectives
as well as overseeing and managing compliance
and regulatory issues.
Greg Comrie comes to
CAI with more than 20 years of experience in
building high performing information technology
organizations and delivering mission critical
projects for both Fortune 500 and software technology
startups including McKesson, VeriSign, General
Electric, and Webroomz. He has served on the
National Board of the CRM Association, is a
Six Sigma Black Belt, and has been featured
in multiple industry periodicals, including
CIO Magazine's "Ask the Expert".
Larry Madlem
Vice President
Larry
Madlem has over twenty years of experience in
managed care network development. In 1985, he
served as president/CEO of the SouthCare Medical
Alliance in Atlanta, GA. By 1993, SouthCare
had become the second largest provider owned
PPO in the United States. In 1994, Larry built
his own consulting company, Paladin Healthcare
Inc. He has consulted for Kaiser Permanente,
Cigna, IntraCorp, CAPP Care, Multi Plan, AmeriGroup
and assisted venture capitalists with merger
and acquisitions of TPAs, HMOs, and PPOs. He
is currently a Vice President at Coalition America
Inc. and is building a new national network
PlanCare America, LLC.
